Why We Should Meditate: We have the inherent ability to find peace and contentment within ourselves. We must realize that lasting contentment is not derived from our short lived associations or possessions. We also must realize that we all have that potential to find lasting and stable happiness. It is said that all happiness, ordinary and sublime, is achieved by the understanding and transforming our own minds. The methods for achieving this can be practiced by anyone, anywhere, in any life style. It is possible for anyone who practices Meditation, even for a short time every day, to achieve happiness. What is Meditation: Meditation is an activity of mental consciousness which can take many forms. You can meditate through prayer; by communicating with your inner wisdom; or by concentrating on a single-pointed mantra or object. Each technique has a specific function and benefit, and each is part of the framework that can bring our mind to a realistic view of the world with judgment.
A Meditation Session: • Theme - I pick a theme for every session (often channeled to me). • Creating of Oneness - Open with simple chants to bring everyone into a vibration of oneness • Positioning the Body - Each person finds the most comfortable position, sitting or prone, that allows for the spine to be straight. • Breathing - Through breathing techniques we bring the mind and body together • Guided Relaxation – First starting at the feet then moving through the body we focus on relaxing each muscle group through the body to bring about a state of deep relaxation • Mantra – A Mantra is recited with each breath to help block out the mind chatter • Guided Meditation – Once focused, I then lead the group through the meditation using the theme • Close – The Meditation is closed with a chant Everyone is encouraged to bring this good experience into their daily life. To watch their mind carefully, be aware, and try to deal more skillfully with lives issues.
